Class Descriptions:

Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals

Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals emphasizes techniques and principles of Jiu Jitsu for self-defense. This class requires no experience or athletic ability, making it the perfect program for beginners. Those that participate in this class will be taught how to utilize technique, leverage, and energy efficiency to defend themselves against a potentially larger, more athletic aggressor. In order to give the best possible introduction to Jiu Jitsu, beginners or those who hold the rank of white belt will be required to complete 16 Jiu Jitsu Fundamental classes before they can attend Sport Jiu Jitsu classes.

Sport Jiu Jitsu

Sport Jiu Jitsu emphasizes techniques and concepts that can be utilized against another Jiu Jitsu practitioner. This class will cover a wide range of skill areas in Jiu Jitsu, including positional escapes, standing techniques, leglocks, guard passing and more. While live sparring will take place, safety, control, and skill development will be prioritized to provide a safe and structured training environment for all those who attend. The Sport Jiu Jitsu class will be open to those who have completed at least 16 Jiu Jitsu Fundamental classes or to anyone holding the rank of blue belt or higher.
